Zach Murphy shows that the small family business is still alive and well

Murphy’s Loft, a used bookstore in Mullica Hill, New Jersey, has a lot more to offer customers than just books. With separate rooms for art and collectible vendors, the friendly, family run store is full of personality as it works toward rebuilding its formerly massive collection of books. Run by Zach Murphy, the grandson of the store’s former owner, Murphy’s Loft is open Wednesdays through Saturdays 11-5, and Sundays 12:30-5. This weekend I went to the Loft, tucked away in a renovated barn, and met Zach and got to hear first hand the story of the store’s near closing, and how important Murphy’s Loft is to its customers. You can hear it for yourself below!

Then and Now: Zach Murphy outside of Murphy’s Loft

The idea for the photo belongs to Zach, and really shows how much history the store has.
